Jordan Sangbong’s missing initially aroused some concern. Authorities issued an Amber Alert for a 2-year-old boy who went missing in Royse City.
The Amber Alert program is designed to help law enforcement respond better to cases of missing or abducted children.
A 2-year-old boy was kidnapped by his own father because Papa Sangbong, his father, lost custody of his children after allegedly assaulting one of them.
Royse City Police and Child Protective Services launched an investigation on Wednesday over an allegation that 37-year-old Daddy Sangbong had physically assaulted one of his children, a 6-year-old boy.
The child was taken into pre-trial detention and child protective services later decided to remove Jordan as well.
A lawyer working with the missing child’s father, Daddy Sangbong, contacted police and agreed to report him.
Officers and child protective services arrived at Sangbong’s home on Mohan Street in Royse City at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, but the father was found to have fled with Jordan moments earlier. A search of the area turned up nothing.
The police said this in a statement on Wednesday. “An arrest warrant has been issued for wounding a child, a third-degree felony, for the father.”
Royse City Police have reason to believe the two-year-old child may be in danger and are asking for help from anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts.
Jordan is described as a 2-year-old black male with black hair and brown eyes, 2 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs 38 pounds.
Daddy Sangbong is described as a 37-year-old black man with black hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 210 pounds in weight. He was last seen in all-black clothing.
On Thursday, March 16, the Amber Alert was canceled when Dad Sangbong and his lawyer arrived at the police station around 8pm and Dad was arrested without incident.
The missing child, Jordan Sangbong, was not with his father at the time.
At 9:15 p.m., a family member took Jordan to the police station unharmed. He is now in child protective custody.
Missing children cases are of great concern and the authorities are 100 percent committed to finding Jordan.
Fortunately, Jordan was found unharmed and in a safe condition and is currently being cared for by child protective services.
