Many fans were looking forward to seeing Bill, Sookie and Lafayette again, but that’s not going to happen now. As the head of broadcaster HBO has now confirmed, work on the series reboot has been halted.

HBO

True Blood fans need to be strong now! The series about the sexy southern vampires, who sometimes live more and sometimes less peacefully with people and even form relationships with them, should actually be revived almost ten years after the end of the seventh and final season. The restart should be guided by “River valley“-Creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in the works, but it seems these plans have now had their leech teeth pulled as work on the project has been halted (Incidentally, the same goes for an also rumored revival of the hit series “Six Feet Under”).

Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO and HBO Max, confirmed to Variety that the idea of a reboot has been pushed back into the grave. After months of guesswork, fans finally have the sad certainty that they won’t be seeing the residents of the small town of Bon Temps again, at least for the foreseeable future. This development had been indicated for a while, because after the announcement of the reboot at the end of 2020, it became surprisingly quiet around the Vamp Rom series.

The last update was then in February 2021 by Bloys. Here it was said that although there was no green light yet, an author had already been found and was working on an idea. Unfortunately, this collaboration does not seem to bear fruit.

This is real blood

In “True Blood”, vampires are a reality. Thanks to a scientific breakthrough, the leeches are no longer dependent on the natural lifeline, but can fall back on a synthetically produced alternative. But despite this new opportunity, many of the quasi-immortal creatures prefer to stay away from society, so many people have never come into contact with a real vampire.

But some of the noble creatures dare to step out of the shadows. For example, vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer), who runs into waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and immediately falls for him. It begins an extraordinary love story full of passion and conflict, which turns the sleepy town of Bon Temps in the southern United States upside down.

But not fired? Season 2 of “Dexter: New Blood” is coming – but different than you think!
