The celebrity chef and host of the show “Bizzare Foods” were born on 5 July 1961 in New York City as the son of a Jewish family. His birth name is Andrew Scott Zimmern and he was born to Robert Zimmern (father) and Caren Zimmern (mother). He studied at Dalton School, where he graduated and attended Vassar College.
From a very young age, Andrew was interested in food and the art of cooking, so at the age of 14, he began attending courses for his first culinary training and at that time became known and respected as an ambitious boy who was passionate about what he loved – cooking.
As we learned, life was not exactly rosy for Andrew, he had his own fair share of hardships and hard life, probably thanks to his alcohol addiction. At one time, the New York celebrity chef became penniless and had no place to live. But in all these troubles, even if they were apparently self-inflicted, he never lost sight of his life’s ambitions and made up for his intentions to lead a successful life by undergoing rehabilitation for alcohol addiction.
He was rehabilitated at the Hazelden Treatment Center for medication and liquor addiction in Minnesota and his life became new. Today, he also volunteers at the center, helping others rise from what he once fell to.
Andrew has lectured at a school for social research and restaurant management, and he is the host of Feasting with Death, a program that teaches viewers about unhealthy foods that can weaken their health and lead to death.
