Antoine Griezmann Bio, Age

Antoine Griezmann was born on 21 March 1991 in Mâcon, Saône-et-Loire in France. He was born into a rich family of his father Alain Griezmann, who was a powerful figure in the corridors of power in France and also a city councilor, and his mother Isabelle Griezmann, who used to work as a hospital cleaner. He is the second child of his parents’ three children, and he has an older sister, Maud Griezmann, and a younger brother, Théo Griezmann.

It is not clear where he received his high school education, as some reports say it was a grammar school in Bayonne. However, we are certain that he attended one, as his father could afford such a necessity, but it is not certain that he attended college. His flair for football may be due to his pedigree, which carries a footballing heritage.

Antoine Griezmann is of mixed descent, as his father has German roots while his mother is of Portuguese descent. Her father, Amaro Lopes, was a footballer who played as a defender for F.C. Antoine Griezmann began his football career as a small child, playing for a small club in his hometown of UF Mâconnais. During his probationary period (Montpellier), his more impressive performance in a friendly match against a team from the Paris Saint-Germain Academy was enough to convince Spain’s LaLiga side Real Sociedad (who were relegated at the time) to offer him a probationary period and then a youth contract in 2005, and so began the fate of Antoine Griezmann at the age of 14. He started in their youth system before moving up to the senior team in 2009 after four years in the youth squad.

After helping them rejoin the LaLiga, he signed a five-year contract with them in April 2010, despite the interests of several other major sides across Europe. He would play four more seasons with Real Sociedad before moving to Atletico Madrid, the top team in the LaLiga, in 2014.

At the national level, Griezmann played for the youth squads of the French national team – U-19, U-20, and U-21 teams – and was even expelled from the national team at some point along with his three other teammates for a year as a disciplinary measure for an offense. He even considered changing his allegiance to Portugal, which he was able to do because of his maternal lineage, but while he was thinking about it, he received a call-up to the senior national team on 27 February 2014. Antoine Griezmann has two siblings – an older sister and a younger brother. His younger brother, Théo Griezmann, is also a footballer and plays in the Sporting Mâcon amateur team in the Portuguese league. His sister, Maud Griezmann, is his picture rights manager but is also lucky to be alive. The attacker from Athletico Madrid married his longtime girlfriend Erika Choperena on 15 June 2017 in what could be called a secret wedding, as the event only became known after the football star published pictures of the event on his Instagram page. He had been dating the Spanish-born girl since 2011 after they met during their studies in San Sebastian. Griezmann was running his soccer business for Real Sociedad at the time, and when he moved to Atletico Madrid in 2014, Choperena followed her lover to the country’s capital.
