In Harry and Meghan’s statement confirming the christening, Lilibet was referred to by her new title for the first time. According to a royal expert, this should have been a surprise for the palace!
As the royal expert Russell Myers said in an interview “The Royal Beat” now explained, the statement on Lilibet’s christening must have come as a surprise to the palace: “The way it was publicized totally blew everyone away! I don’t think Buckingham Palace was prepared for that.” He goes on to claim that the palace assumed Harry and Meghan would give them a final update before announcing the title. “The sentiment I noticed was that’s probably not the case. I think that says a lot about everyone’s relationship and how broken it really is.”
