Bill Skarsgård’s Biography
He was born with the actor gene running in his veins when he appeared in the family of actor Stellan Skarsgård and doctor My Sonja Marie Agnes on 9 August 1990. His birth name was Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård and his first contact with the earth was in Vällingby, Stockholm, Sweden.
His father, Stellan, had over a dozen children, though from two marriages. Skarsgård has seven brothers and sisters, including half-brothers and sisters; three of his older brothers Alexander, Gustaf, and Valter are all actors. His other biological siblings are Sam and Eija Skarsgård (sister). His half-siblings (from the father’s second marriage) are Ossian and Kolbjörn Skarsgård.

Although nothing is known about his education, except that he majored in natural sciences, young Skarsgård was constantly traveling with his father, as he went from set to set in the prime of his acting career. He has lived in Mexico, Cambodia, etc. and his interaction with different cultures has broadened his view of life and also sharpened his mind for a better understanding of human relationships and interactions.
Apart from the above, attending several shootings with his father has done two things for Bill Skarsgård. Firstly, he was able to familiarise himself with some of the big guns in the business, which helped him to launch his own acting career. Secondly, it exposed him and familiarized him with a world that he would later call his own when he started working with children’s roles – his first in 2000.
Career
As already mentioned, Bill Skarsgård’s acting career began with a role in the Swedish thriller Järngänget from 2000, when he was only 10 years old and starred in the lead role together with his older brother Alexander. Interestingly enough, he was the younger brother of his brother’s character in the film. After his first movie role, Bill waited until he was 18 years old to get another leading role. While he waited, he starred in a couple of Swedish short films – Spending the Night and Pagan Brinner – and in the TV mini-series Laura Trenter – Dad, the Policeman.
In “Arn – The Kingdom at the End of the Road” he appeared in 2008 alongside his father and his older brother Gustaf Skarsgård. In 2010 he would play the leading roles in Behind Blue Skies as Martin and also appear in the romantic drama Simple Simon as Simon. His performance in the latter earned him a nomination for the “Guldbagge Award”. He played another leading role in 2011 in The Crown Jewels, where he played alongside the popular Swedish actress Alicia Vikander.
Bill Skarsgård began to get positive reviews and roles when foreign films called for him. His first film was Anna Karenina (2012), where he played the role of Captain Machouten. The next year he also got a role in the American horror series Hemlock Grove, where his portrayal of the Roman Godfrey, a vampire who is also half-human, ensured that he took his place in the popularity rankings.
In 2016 he played the role of Matthew in the science fiction film series The Divergent Series: Allegiant, Atomic Blonde, Alteration, It and Battlecreek followed in 2017, and his other works include Deadpool 2, Assassination Nation and It 2.

Bill Skarsgård comes from a fairly large family consisting of father, mother, stepmother, six brothers, and one sister. His father, Stellan Skarsgård was a Swedish actor and his mother, My Sonja Marie Agnes, was a doctor. His stepmother is Megan Everett and she is the mother of Ossian and Kolbjörn, his last two brothers, while his biological siblings are: Alexander, Gustaf, Sam, Valter, and Eija.
As already mentioned, three of his older brothers have also entered the world of their father’s illusory world and are celebrated actors in their own right. Alexander Skarsgård is known for his roles in Zoolander, True Blood, The Legend of Tarzan, etc. Gustaf Skarsgård, who started acting at the age of nine, is known for his roles in the TV series Vikings and the 2010 film The Way Back.
