Fast-rising star Christian Kirk is a professional American football player who plays the role of wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He has been called up by the Cardinals as the 47th outfielder in the 2018 NFL draft. Kirk completed his college career at Texas A&M University. Christian Davon Kirk was born to African-American parents – Evan Kirk and his wife Melissa Kirk. The soccer player first entered this world on November 18, 1996, in Scottsdale, Arizona, in the United States of America. He has American citizenship and belongs to a mixed ethnic background. While growing up, Kirk attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, where he began his football career. When he played for his Saguaro football team, Kirk made waves both as a wide receiver and as a running back.

For his college career, Kirk chose Texas A&M University over his home state of Arizona and others. During his college career, he won over 3,000 all-purpose yards as a senior and 2,000 yards in his junior year. Upon graduation, Kirk was among the highest-rated college prospects in his class. He received a five-star rating from Scout.com and Rivals.com. He also received a four-star rating from ESPN and 247Sports.

Kirk joined the Texas team in 2015 and did not need much time to influence the team. He played under coach Kevin Sumlin near Texas; in his first game for the Aggies, he had 6 receptions, a touchdown, and a 79-yard point return. He finished his first year with a total of 80 receptions, eight touchdowns, 1,009 receiving yards, and 13 games. After his brilliant performance, Christian Kirk won the SEC award “Freshman of the Year”.

In his second year of study in 2016, Kirk participated in 13 games, of which he started 12. He led the conference with a total of nine touchdowns, 83 receptions, and 928 reception yards. At the end of the season, he was appointed to the first team of the All-SEC for his great performances. The following year, he was named to the All-SEC First Team after scoring 10 touchdowns, 71 receptions, 919 receptions, and 10 point returns on 191 yards. Kirk announced that he would be relinquishing his senior year while he declared himself for the 2018 NFL draft.

NFL Career

Christian Kirk took part in the 2018 NFL draft combine trials, where he showed an outstanding performance. He completed the 40-yard sprint in 4.47 seconds, the 20-yard shuttle in 4.45 seconds, and the 60-yard shuttle in 12.03 seconds. He also completed the 3-cone drill in 7.09 seconds and was projected in the draft as a pick in the second round. He was later selected by the Arizona Cardinals as the 47th overall pick during the 2018 NFL Draft.

He joined the Cardinals team during the 2018 preseason games and is expected to play Brice Butler, Chad William, and Greg Little for the second wide receiver jersey. Kirk began his rookie career with a good score and scored four catches for 49 yards in the pre-season win over the New Orleans Saints.
