Clayne Crawford’s Bio
Clayne Crawford was born on April 20, 1978, as Joseph Crawford. He was born in Clay, Alabama, to the family of Matthew Vincent and Lennie Crawford. He attended Hewitt-Trussville High School in Jefferson County, Alabama, where he showed a great interest in sports activities. In high school, Crawford played basketball and football and was also part of the school’s wrestling team. After graduating high school, he continued his college education at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he continued to play basketball.
He would have thought of a career in the game until a serious knee injury put an end to his ambitions. When he turned his thoughts to acting, Crawford attended the Adarang Approach where he took acting lessons. There he also met Josh Holloway who was also a student at the same time. Clayne Crawford belongs to the white ethnic group and has the American nationality.
Clayne Crawford had to leave his hometown of Alabama to find out what opportunities could open up for him in the entertainment industry when he moved to Los Angeles in 1996. To support and encourage his son, his father drove him down there himself. After he left home, Crawford had to work in a construction company to support himself financially.
Originally known as “Joey Crawford”, he had to change his first name to “Clayne” in 2000, and so he became known professionally as “Clayne Crawford”. Asked why he decided to change his first name, Crawford said it was in honor of his hometown of Clay (and also an ancestor called “Clan”).
He began to appear in small theater productions until he made his screen debut in 1997. Clayne Crawford’s first feature film was in the television series called Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). It was not until 2001 that he received his first role in a film. He got a role in the movie One Blood Planet (2001), in which he played the character, Cady. In the same year, he also got the second role in a television series with his appearance in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Henry McFadden. From then on it was an upward trend for him, as countless producers and directors tried to accompany him again and again. In case of doubt, his appearance in over 60 films and TV shows should be proof of this.
Most recently he appeared in the Fox television series Lethal Weapon, where he played the role of Martin Riggs. He began work on the series in 2016 and has appeared in 40 episodes until May 8, 2018, when it was reported that he had been removed from the TV series. His offense? Abusive behavior on set. Fans feared it might turn out to be fake news, but when the third season of the series was announced on May 14, 2018, it was also announced that actor Seann William Scott would replace Clayne Crawford in the series.
He has received a nomination in Clayne Crawford’s career, which shows that his impressive performances have not gone unnoticed on the screens.
