No, Gore Verbinski’s A Cure For Wellness doesn’t have much in common with Pirates of the Caribbean, except maybe CELEBTAP loves both films. However, if you want to see the horror movie on Amazon Prime Video, you’ll have to hurry.

It’s that time again: Amazon Prime Video is pulling two movies from its subscription program and one in particular should definitely be on your watch list – even if there’s not much time left. “A Cure For Wellness” from “Pirates of the Caribbean” director Gore Verbinskis is a true gem of the genre and has delighted the CELEBTAP editors. Editor-in-chief Christoph Petersen praises an “atmospheric and visually intoxicating gothic horror festival” in our review, awarding it four out of five stars. “Venom” by “Uncharted” director Ruben Fleischer didn’t score well with us, but it’s still worth seeing.

There are still a few days left to stream the two films. “A Cure For Wellness” leaves Amazon Prime Video on February 26. Venom will be phased out on February 23, 2023.

dr Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) is the head of the Life Foundation, which aims to connect alien organisms to the human genome. Reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) suspects illegal and morally questionable activities and wants to know what the Foundation is up to behind closed doors. His girlfriend Anne (Michelle Williams) can’t stop him and so his investigation leads to an accident: Brock comes into contact with a symbiote and merges with him into a new being – he becomes the superhuman Venom.
