Dave Bautista is an actor and retired wrestler. He is also a former bodybuilder and mixed martial artist.

Dave was born David Michael Bautista Jr. on January 18, 1969, in Washington D.C. His parents are David Michael Bautista (father) and Donna Raye Mullins (mother). His father is a hairdresser and is still in business. He had a difficult childhood, as his parents divorced when he was still growing up. This influenced him and led him to lead a criminal lifestyle. After his parents divorced, he stayed with his mother, and the neighborhood where they lived was so violent that before Dave was nine years old, he had witnessed three murders in front of her house.

The environment hardened him, and soon – at the tender age of thirteen – he began stealing cars. He broke away from home and began to live alone. He worked as a doorman in various nightclubs and got into an argument with some regulars. He was given probation and soon found love in bodybuilding, a profession he would later thank for saving his life from the path of violence. Dave has a mixed pedigree as his mother is of Greek descent and his father is Filipino.

Dave Bautista signed a contract for wrestling in 2000. His great wrestling career, which began in two stages, lasted eleven years (2000 to 2010 and then 2013 to 2014). He used the ring name “Batista” throughout his career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He was a good fighter and in his best years the favorite of the fans. He won one championship after the other and currently holds a WWE record as a champion with the longest reign as World Heavyweight Champion, which is 282 days. In his career in the WWE, he has won the WWE Championship twice, the Tag Team World Championship three times (one of them with John Cena), and the Federation Heavyweight World Championship four times.

He won Royal Rumble in 2005 and 2014 and his victory in 2005 gave him the right to compete in WrestleMania 21, where he could compete against any world champion of his choice. His success in the Royal Rumble match in 2014 also gave him the right to lead WrestleMania. During his short break from WWE between 2010 and 2012, Dave continued to fight in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He then signed a contract with Classic Entertainment & Sports and was scheduled to debut in October 2012. His planned opponent, Rashid Evans, was disqualified for breaking his probation rule and replaced by the 40-member veteran Vince Lucero, whom Dave defeated in the first round by the TKO.

Dave Bautista has also acted in a number of movies and made his acting debut in 2006. His most popular role, however, came in 2014 when he played the lead role of Drax in The Guardians of the Galaxy.
