Disney unexpectedly announced on Wednesday that it is producing sequels to some of its most beloved and popular franchises.
The studio has announced a fifth film in the Toy Story franchise, a third installment in the hit Frozen, and a sequel to the underrated Zootopia.
No details or creative team for the projects have been revealed, nor have release dates for the new movies.
Disney’s new stage
The news of the continuations of Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia follow shortly after a financial balance sheet points out that Disney + lost about 2 million subscribers, for the first time in its history.
Currently, all films from other franchises and associated production companies are available in the Disney+ catalog.
