FKJ – Biography

French Kiwi Juice, or FKJ, is certainly not a conventional name that a parent(s) will call their child, and it was definitely not the name that the parents of FKJ gave their boy at birth. His real name is Vincent Fenton and he was born on 26 March 1991. Vincent Fenton comes from Tours, a city in the Midwest of France, but he now lives in Paris.

Like all great musicians we have today, there is always a point of beginning when they decide to dedicate the rest of their lives to music. For FKJ, he was influenced when he stumbled across his parents’ record collection as a teenager and then picked up his first guitar. From that point on, he knew that the rest of his life would be about music, not just any music genre, but Nu Jazz, Electronics, Rhythm and Blues, and French House.

When he worked as a theater sound engineer, he was able to teach himself the basics of producing his own kind of music. As he learned more and prepared to get the ball rolling, FKJ began collaborating with other artists from the Roche Musique label in early 2010 to develop an electronic subgenre of new French house music.

Towards the end of 2012, the result of all that they have done over the last 2 years began to emerge. The musician released his first EP called The Twins and in the same year, the single Lying Together followed. His second EP, Time For A Change, was released in 2013 and this work was highly acclaimed by critics and received praise from music critic blogs and online platforms such as Trax Mag, Indie Shuffle, Ofive, Earmilk, and The Sound You Need. His massive online presence has served and continues to serve as the foundation upon which the success of his music productions has been built.

In 2014, FKJ released another EP called Take Off, and in the two years that followed, he devoted his time to working on his first full-length album. The album of the same name, French Kiwi Juice, was released in the USA on March 3, 2017, under the Roche Musique (music) label. In the following year, FKJ released another single called Is Magic Gone, which was followed by the single Leave My Home in 2019.
