Gerard Pique was born on 2 February 1987. His father Joan Pique is a successful businessman and lawyer, while his grandfather Amador Bernabeu was a former vice-president of FC Barcelona. Pique was barely two years old when he had his first football injury when he fell off the terrace of his grandparents’ house while playing football as a toddler. Young Gerard slipped into a coma for two days but fortunately recovered without any health complications.
