King Charles III (74) and Camilla (75) are now on the road! Today will definitely go down in the history books: After 70 years of the Queen’s reign (✝96), Charles III. ascend the British throne. The big ceremony in Westminster Abbey is expected to reach its climax around noon. Charles and Camilla still have a 30-minute carriage ride before the coronation.
The weather in London doesn’t play along at all, but the royals are on the perfect schedule. Almost on the dot, the procession sets off from Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee State carriage. Previously, Charles was the first to sit in the vehicle. It took some time before his wife sat down next to him – apparently it was a bit more complicated to get into the carriage. The organizers opted for the much more comfortable body.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew (63), Charles’ younger brother, is already on his way to the church. However, he was not received very friendly by the fans. Instead, he was booed – after a few scandals, Andrew has been without military titles and royal duties since last year.
