Sacramento teen Janelle Kelly isn’t actually missing, but was the subject of a comedy skit on The Onion’s popular sarcastic show “Today Now.”
The show features an interview with two of Janelle’s best friends who supposedly through the show beg the audience to help find their missing friend.
However, the show derails into information not so important about the missing case as school and community gossip.
At the start of the show, Megan and Katie were seen sobbing in memory of their friend, but things took an unexpected turn after they started talking about a classmate who is suspected of being pregnant because she has started wearing sweaters.
Megan suddenly remembers Kelly calling her while she was busy watching a movie.
Megan told Kelly to call her later because she was busy at the time, but forgot to tell the information to other search parties or the police because she was drunk on margaritas afterwards.
Kelly said she was driven to Salina by a guy. The suspect in Janelle Kelly’s missing is said to be the older man who bought beer for the three girls.
According to the show’s on-screen pop-up, the suspect is a cute old man.
