Jeremy Bash is a remarkable figure in matters of US national security, international relations, and foreign policy. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and then earned his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Jeremy Bash Biography

Jeremy B. Bash was born on August 13, 1971, the son of Dr. Deborah Bash and Rabbi Marvin Bash. He grew up in Arlington, Virginia, in a conservative Jewish family.

He received his high school education at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. He received his college education at Georgetown University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government. In Georgetown, he headed the editorial team of the university newspaper The Hoya. In 1998, he received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School. He also served as editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Jeremy Bash has been admitted to the Bar Associations of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington. He was also admitted to the bar associations of the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. As a young lawyer, Bash served as an articled clerk to Judge Leonie M. Brinkema at the Alexandria Federal District Court.

In 2000, Jeremy Bash was appointed National Security Advisor to Al Gore/Joe Lieberman for the U.S. presidential campaign. After the elections, he returned to the private law practice in the D.C. office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. He also served as an advisor to the Committee of U.S. Secret Service Representatives and as the top advisor to California Congressman Jane Harman, who was also a member of the Committee.

Bash also served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). A scholar of law, he has lectured at Harvard and Georgetown law schools, the American University, and also at the National War College. In fact, Jeremy Bash is an authority on all matters relating to government operations at the highest levels in the United States and internationally.

Of course, Jeremy Bash is married. His wife’s name is Robyn Bash (nee Cooke). She was Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy Operations for the American Hospital Association. She also served as coordinator of the organization’s relations with the executive branch.

Before his marriage to Robyn, Jeremy Bash was married to CNN’s political correspondent, Dana Bash. The former couple entered into the covenant on September 6, 1998. Their marriage lasted 9 years and ended in divorce in 2007.
