Joel Edward McHale was born on November 20, 1971, in Rome, Italy. He is the middle child of three brothers. Although he was born in Italy, his father is an American from Chicago, Illinois. His mother, however, is a Canadian born in the city of Vancouver.

Joel spent his childhood in Seattle, Washington, and attended Mercer Island High School in 1991. In 1995, he received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington. Joel also holds a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Washington’s professional actor training program.
After receiving his master’s degree, he moved to Los Angeles and got some small roles in Diagnostics: Murder, CSI: Miami, and Will and Grace. This opened up more opportunities for him as an actor.

Joel McHale currently plays the recurring role of Chris in Santa Clarita Diet, an American horror series with a touch of comedy. The series was created as a streaming show for Netflix. The show was officially released to the public on February 3, 2017. The second season was renewed by Netflix, and the first episode premiered on the streaming platform on March 23, 2018.
Joel McHale began his hosting appearances with the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents’ Association in 2014 and hosted the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards and the 2015 Espy Awards. In January 2018, McHale announced that he would launch his talk show The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix. The official premiere took place on 18 February 2018. The show officially started its first season with thirteen episodes to be released weekly. McHale is the author and executive producer of the show. The show focuses on pop culture and news from around the world from a different perspective.
Relationship With Wife Sarah Williams
McHale met his wife Sarah one year after graduating from the University of Washington in 1995. He had called Sarah’s friend to see if he could ask Sarah out. She said it was a fat chance, but she would ask anyway. Sarah ended updating Joel, and the relationship developed after that.
Joel MacHale and Sarah Williams were together for a year and got married on July 20, 1996. Since their marriage, they have had a good relationship and have not been involved in any scandal. The couple has been seen together in public several times. After his marriage to Sarah Williams, he was not involved with any other woman. Joel called his wife Sarah a super mother. He explained that she was always thinking of things he would never do.
After 22 years of marriage, Joel can build an enviable relationship with his wife and they live happily in Hollywood Hills, California. So far, there are no signs or rumors of a divorce in the near future.

Their marriage is blessed with two sons: Edward Roy McHale and Isaac Hayden McHale. Edward was born with two holes in his heart and underwent open-heart surgery as a baby, but he is better now. McHale’s dedication to his family (wife and children) is what makes him attractive. In 2011 he took a break from stand-up comedy to spend more time with his family.
