The Grammy winner was born on August 21, 1988, as Kacey Lee Musgraves in Golden, Texas. Musgraves received her artistic side from her mother Karen (née Abrams) Musgraves, who is an artist. These genes also passed to her younger sister Kelly Christine Sutton (nee Musgraves), who is a talented photographer. Her father Craig is a businessman and runs his own print shop in Carthage, Texas.
Musgraves’ mother held her hand and guided her through her early years in music, which began at the age of 8 when she started writing songs.
