Kent Bazemore Jr. is an American professional player who has demonstrated his talent in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Atlanta Hawks. Bazemore was born the son of Kenneth Lamont Bazemore Jr. on July 1, 1989, as the son of Kenneth and Glynis Bazemore. His birthplace is Kelford, North Carolina. He attended Bertie High School in North Carolina and from then on he showed many perspectives. In his junior year, he was named Roanoke-Chowan Player of the Year. In his senior year, he was also named Roanoke-Chowan Player of the Year and North Carolina Coastal Conference Player of the Year.

Some of his averages during his senior year at Bertie High School were 18.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 10.3 rebounds per game. He was selected for the North Carolina – South Carolina All-Star Game in his junior year, averaging 22.9 points and 9.8 rebounds.

In Bazemore’s first year at Old Dominion University (ODU), he was mainly played in rotation and averaged 4.5 points and rebounds per game. In the same 2008-2009 season, he helped the ODU team win the 2009 Collegeinsider.com tournament. Bazemore joined the starting line-up in his second year and his performances during the season led to his inclusion in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) all-defense team.

Bazemore continued to receive awards in his junior year at ODU. In the 2010-2011 season, he was named CAA Defensive Player of the Year and was inducted into the second All-Conference Team. He also received the Lefty Driesell Award as the nation’s best defender. Bazemore was named CAA Pre-Season Player of the Year before the 2011-2012 season began. NBA Career

Although Kent Bazemore was not part of the 2012 NBA draft, he began his career by joining the Oklahoma Thunders in the Orlando Summer League. He later joined the Golden State Warriors in the Las Vegas Summer League and signed with the team in July 2012. While playing there as a rookie, he was assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League.

In February 2013, the Golden State Warriors traded Bazemore and Mashron for Steve Blake of the Los Angeles Lakers. The following month, he scored a career highlight of 23 points in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans. In early April he suffered a laceration on his right foot and was eliminated for the rest of the season.

Bazemore signed with the Atlanta Hawks in November 2015 and scored a career highlight of 28 points with the team in a game against the Miami Heat in December 2015. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks again in July 2016. Another career highlight came when he scored 29 points in a game against the Golden State Warriors in March 2018.

Kent Bazemore married long-time fiancée Samantha Serpe at the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina in July 2017. They had been together since his early years. Samantha Serpe was born in North Caldwell, New Jersey on January 5, 1990, the daughter of Ralph and Cindy Serpe. She has two siblings.
