When she was 14 years old, she already wanted to approach music as a rapper, so she and two of her classmates formed the Cornrow Clique, which became her first rap group. Although her talent could not be denied, she was not popular because she was different in many ways.

In 2005 Lizzo went to college, but she couldn’t fit in and felt trapped. Later, she dropped out of college and soon became homeless because she again had no dormitory and her parents had moved to Denver. For this reason, she had to sleep in her 1990s T-Bone Subaru car.

She played flute with Ellypsea, who became her first real band in 2008. Apart from the fact that she had the opportunity to advance her music career, she sometimes used the band’s rehearsal room as a sleeping place. Unfortunately, the band retired in 2010, the same year that she lost her father.

At the urging of her mother, she later joined the family in Denver before moving to Edina, where she continued her music. Later she formed her band The Chalice and then GRRRL PRTY, which was a local favorite.

As she was constantly evolving, she released her first solo studio album Lizzobangers in 2013. Although it was a critical success, it was not a great commercial success. This album was followed by Big Grrrl Small World in 2015. This was also a great success. In 2019 she released her single Juice before her third studio album Cuz I Love You (2019). The single was both commercially and critically successful. The rapper can also show 2 EPs and 3 joint albums.

In 2013, she took home the “Picked to Click” award for the best new Twin Cities artist from City Pages. She was later named by Time as one of 14 artists to be seen in 2014.
