Cakmak went missing on Sunday March 12 after leaving his hometown on his bicycle. Police had enlisted the public’s help in locating him and authorities had even posted his photo on social media.
Fortunately, Cakmak was found unharmed and his family can now breathe a sigh of relief.
According to the police, Cakmak had been in the Bronx all along and it is not yet clear how he ended up there.
The Suffolk County Police Department had launched a search and NYPD officers assisted them in finding the youngster.
Cakmak is described as a white male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with brown eyes and hair.
He had left his house with ripped pants and a hooded hoodie in a dark color and had a scar above his eye and braces.
Authorities have not released any further details about Cakmak’s disappearance or how he ended up in the Bronx.
Nevertheless, it is a relief to his family and the community that he was found safe and unharmed.
Authorities have praised the joint efforts of Suffolk and NYPD officers to quickly locate the missing child.
