Minatozaki Sana, popularly known only as Sana, is a Japanese-born singer and a member of the music group TWICE (A south Korean girl group founded in 2015 by JYP Entertainment through a reality show SIXTEEN).
In the reality show, 16 contestants competed for eight coveted spots in the group (later known as TWICE), and Sana was chosen for her skills and pop star potential. Other members of the group are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun Chae-young, and Tzuyu.

Minatozaki was born on 29 December 1996 in Osaka, Japan. Her desire to join a K-Pop group (a broad name for the music genre produced in the South Korean music industry) as a singer and dancer actually only began after she witnessed the rise of girl groups such as Girls’ Generation (also known as SNSD) and KARA.
Her dream came true when she was recruited by the K-Pop conglomerate JYP Entertainment after an audition in 2012 when she was still in middle school in Japan.
