Although someone obtained the recording through a public records request, it was made public by the “Hidden True Crime” podcast. The leaked phone call aired in one of the episodes of the mystery podcast.

Jim Griffin, who was on the receiving end of the phone call, openly denounced this shattering of attorney-client privileges.

Following the episode, a social media user shared a snippet of the conversation on Twitter and questioned whether it should be kept confidential due to client and attorney confidentiality.

It was a debate that sparked a furious response from Jim Griffin, who confirmed the call’s authenticity and warned he was “mad as hell” that it was leaked on Twitter.

The call begins with Jim telling him to go back to bed and call his wife. alex says, “I know, and I’ll let you go. But the one thing I wanted to tell you. Please don’t think I’m critical of that because I’m not. I don’t think you could have done better with him than you did today.”

Hidden True Crime is a media organization production led by husband-wife duo Dr. John Matthias and Lauren Matthias.

The outlet creates podcasts and YouTube videos focused on true crime from the combined perspectives of “criminal psychology and journalism.”

Many news outlets reached out to Griffin to get comment for him, but so far he’s been very uncooperative.

The call was released days after Murdaugh’s double murder trial attracted a huge amount of attention.

On March 2, the disgraced lawyer was charged with the murder of his wife Maggie and son Paul. He was sentenced to life in prison.

The killer’s wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, were brutally murdered on the night of June 7, 2021.

Maggie, Paul and Murdaugh attended the dog kennels on the family’s sprawling Moselle estate.
