Pippa Middleton Biography
Pippa, born on 6 September 1983 as Philippa Charlotte Middleton, is the second of three children born to her parents in Reading, Berkshire, England. Her parents – Michael and Carole – worked in the British aviation industry and it was there that they met. Pippa has two other siblings – an older sister, Catherine Middleton (widely known as Kate, Duchess of Cambridge), and a younger brother, James William Middleton, who is a businessman and entrepreneur.
Pippa attended the same private boarding school as her older sister – St Andrew’s School in Pangbourne – before moving to Downe House School in Cold Ash. She also received a sports scholarship to attend Marlborough College in Wiltshire before enrolling at the University of Edinburgh.
At university, Pippa had the opportunity to mingle with the royal family, not knowing that fate would bring the royal family on her way. Lord Edward Innes-Ker, son of the Duke of Roxburghe, and Count Percy, son of the Duke of Northumberland, were Pippa’s housemates and called themselves ‘Castle Crew’. She was with the latter for a short time before obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 2008. She is the extrovert among the children from Middleton, especially compared to her older sister Kate.
An outgoing person, Pippa Middleton had a flair for outdoor event management, but after graduating from university, she worked for a public company promoting luxury products before switching to event management. Her first job in this respect was with the London-based event management company Table Talk.
Pippa has also worked for Party Pieces, a company owned by her parents, as an editor for Party Times magazine, but on a part-time basis. Penguin Books paid her an advance of £400,000 to write a book on event planning for her. She wrote a piece entitled Celebrate, which was published in 2012, but the book was a commercial failure and had very low ratings, so she had to part with her frailing in 2013.
As a writer, she has worked as an editor and contributor to various publications and magazines, including The Spectator (2012), Vanity Fair (2013), Waitrose Kitchen (2013), The Sunday Telegraph (2013), etc. In May 2014 she quit her job with the latter and became a director of PXM Enterprises Limited, a company in which she held shares, but only three months after her marriage in 2017 she closed the business. In 2013 Pippa became an ambassador for a school for hearing impaired children. She is also an ambassador for the British Heart Foundation.
Her Route to Fame – Kate Middleton
Pippa’s popularity came with the marriage of her older sister, Kate Middleton, to Prince William. It was this relationship that changed the status of her family in Britain when her sister became the Dutchwoman of Cambridge. Kate had met the young Prince William at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, and they began a relationship that would later lead them to the altar.
When attention was drawn to the latest romance in England’s royal palace, some of the attention went to Pippa Middleton. She was her sister’s closest friend and was always seen with her in the shopping mall and other public places, and soon paparazzi began to follow her. Perhaps it culminated in her appearance as her sister’s maid of honor at the royal wedding.
Relationship With James Matthews – Husband
Pippa Middleton is a married woman and married to James Matthews, a former professional racer. James, now a hedge fund manager at Eden Rock Capital Management, engaged Pippa in July 2016, and a year later, on 20 May 2017, the couple married at St Mark’s Church on the Englefield Estate in Berkshire. The couple recently announced that they are expecting their first child, whose arrival is expected in October 2018.
Pippa, like her elder sister, is married to a royal line of succession and will be known as Lady Glen Affric when her Scottish husband, James Matthews, inherits his father’s position as lord of the manor from Glen Affric, a Scottish estate 15 miles from Loch Ness. James Matthews is currently the heir to his father, David Matthews.
Pippa Middleton’s parents are Michael and Carole Middleton, who were both employees of British Airways. Her father was a flight attendant, and her mother, who was also a flight attendant at first, later became a flight service consultant. They lived in Bradfield Southend, England, in 1987 after they had returned to the country from Armenia. As soon as they settled back in the country, their mother, Carole, started her business selling children’s party decorations. When the business was booming, everyone played a role. Pippa and her other siblings served as business representatives for the shop, which was now called Party Pieces. Today, the Middletons have a net value of $50 million from the mail-order business that went out of business.
