The British music world mourns Pete Brown. He had already published his first poem at the age of 14. But over the years the Englishman has also made a name for himself as a songwriter. He wrote hits like “Sunshine of Your Love” and “I Feel Free” in the 1960s Eric Clapton (78) and his band Cream were performed. But now comes the sad news: Pete has passed away.
This was on his Facebookpage announced. “Pete Brown, author, musician, filmmaker and songwriter, died last night at the age of 82 after a brave battle with cancer”, the statement said. Pete is survived by his wife Sheridan, daughter Jessica and son Tad.
During his lifetime, Pete was a talented artist who had tried many genres. From 1968 he worked for 45 years with the late jazz musician Jack Bruce, for whom he also composed songs. But the father of two also pursued his own music career and established himself as a songwriter.
