Were Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) not welcome at first? King Charles’ (74) coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. Due to the occasion, his youngest son and his wife were also invited. However, only Prince William’s (40) brother will attend the ceremony. The fact that the Royal dropouts are wanted at the event should not have been the case from the beginning!
At least that’s what Omid Scobie, their biographer, claims. “As far as I know the Sussexes had to wait some time to get confirmation that they were 100 per cent welcome at this event.”he explained on the show “This Morning”. According to the writer, it was not certain that Harry and Meghan would even receive an invitation: “It was never a question of whether he wanted to come or not, it was a question of whether he would be invited.”
Despite the 38-year-old’s presence, he is unlikely to play a major role in the coronation. Paul Burrell (64), Princess Diana’s former butler (✝36), gave opposite UK News an assessment in this regard: “He’ll be ten rows back. He won’t even see his brother or his father during that time.”
