Ryan Anderson is married to actress, former model, and lifestyle/fitness blogger Kari Klinkenborg. The couple met in early 2016 while Kari lived in Los Angeles. Anderson was playing for the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans at that time. After a year of courtship, Anderson asked Kari the question on a surprising romantic trip to Punta Mita, Mexico.
They were married on August 6, 2017, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Mrs. Anderson, born December 12, 1986, began her modeling career in 2009 after she had just earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida at Gainesville, Florida. Kari played volleyball at Highland Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and attended college on a volleyball scholarship. Klinkenborg has three sisters.
Her first appearance as a model was in a calendar Campus Girls USA. She appeared in ads for Athleta and Miller Lite. After that, she tried her hand at acting and is best known for her role in the 2015 film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge out of the water. She had a guest role alongside Ashton Kutcher in an episode of the hit comedy series Two and a Half Men in 2003 and also played a role in Castle (2009).
Anderson’s wife had lived for years with endometriosis, which was diagnosed after her honeymoon. When she told Endo Found, she had been in severe pain since she first began seeing her period at the age of 14. The pain was so severe that she ended up in the emergency room the day after volleyball practice in high school. She scheduled her first OB-GYN appointment days later when the doctors said they found cysts in her system. She was then given a birth control pill, which she took for the next 17 years.
The pain subsided, but after she stopped taking the pills at the age of 30, they returned and made her realize that she had a problem. Kari looked for answers, but none were given to her until she married Anderson, who, after her honeymoon, did online research on her symptoms and stumbled upon a TED lecture on endometriosis. Kari had an appointment with an endometriosis specialist and was operated on in October 2017, removing 31 endometriosis lesions from her bowel and bladder.
Prior to her relationship with Ryan, Kari had dated another NBA star, Blake Griffin.
