Initially, the group thought the movement was a “tuna boil,” a shoal of tuna nibbling on food that causes water to bubble up.

However, they were surprised to find that hungry sharks were causing the commotion.

“Then we saw it was sharks on a bait – never seen anything like it,” May told Storyful, which posted the video on Tuesday.

“By the time we got there the sharks had found the body and pushed them against the boat to feast on it,” he continued.

The video of the wild scene went viral and has been widely shared online.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries, sharks can go without food for up to six weeks. Still, they can go into an “eating phase” and seek out a food source.

If they do decide to eat, they are not picky eaters and will eat anything including tires, license plates, a fur coat, a chicken coop and even a full suit of armor.

“Sharks eat everything. Even things like tires, license plates, a fur coat, a chicken coop and even a full suit of armor have been found in their stomachs! But in general, sharks are omnivores, meaning they eat mostly only meat and plants. If there is not an abundant supply of meat in the area, they will resort to eating marine plants. the agency said.

May and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Dix, were out fishing on a friend’s fishing boat when they saw the sharks feeding.

They drove the boat towards a large menhaden pod, but the sharks found it and pushed it against the ship to feast on it. The frenzy was so fierce that the sharks brought water into the boat.
