The third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard” offers what many Trekkies from the first two seasons had hoped for: a reunion with (almost) the entire “Next Generation” crew. The trailer offers a preview.
In the beginning, “Star Trek: Picard” would not just be a continuation of the cult series “Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century” aka “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and its movies, but the Starfleet legend Jean-Luc Picard of the same name (Patrick Stewart) on new adventures with a new crew. That was actually maintained in the first two seasons, despite guest appearances by old acquaintances such as Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Data (Brent Spiner).
Nearly three decades after the end of “Next Generation” (and over two decades after the movie adventure “Star Trek: Nemesis”), the third and final season will still bring the big revival many fans have been looking for. So the entire main cast of “Next Generation” will be back – and not just for small cameos. So we can look forward to an extended reunion with Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker, Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher, LeVar Burton as Geordi LaForge, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi and Michael Dorn as Worf. And Brent Spiner is back too, but this time not as Data, but his evil android twin brother Lore.

The above German trailer already gives a taste of all these comebacks, which also showcases the new voiceovers from Riker and Worf and also briefly shows us the new Enterprise F and another fan-favorite return (namely the evil Moriarty hologram) . Although the preview already expects a lot, the surprises of the new “Picard” episodes are far from exhausted, as we can confirm after watching the first episodes.
You can quickly convince yourself of that. The third season of Star Trek: Picard begins February 17, 2023 on Amazon Prime Video and Paramount+. Both streaming providers have a new episode of the ten-part final season every Friday.
That’s what Star Trek: Picard Season 3 is all about
Starfleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) receives a distress call from his former friend and Enterprise Doctor Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), whom he has not heard from in years and who lives on the border of Federation space with threatening an unknown woman. Together with his former first officer Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Picard goes back into the depths of space to investigate and locate Beverly.
In the process, he eventually encounters the ruthless Vadic (Amanda Plummer) and her mighty ship. While Picard and Co. trying to find out what sinister plans their new adversary is actually pursuing, the noose around them tightens…
