Celebrations in Norway today! On May 17, Norwegians celebrate their national holiday. The special occasion turns into a real mega-event every year. Because all the residents are on their feet and partying – including the royals around Crown Prince Haakon (49) and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit (49). In recent months, however, she has been struggling with health problems. Now she is probably better and she can enjoy the national holiday!
As current pictures from Oslo show, the crown prince couple has dressed up properly for the occasion. Mette-Marit beamed in a traditional navy dress with intricate floral embroidery. Her lover slipped into a so-called bunad suit, which is part of the Norwegian male costume. Son Sverre (17) appeared accompanied by dog lady Molly and cut a great figure in an elegant suit. However, his sister Princess Ingrid Alexandra (19) was missing.
Haakon and Mette-Marit were also in London on May 6 when King Charles was crowned the new British Regent in Westminster Abbey. At the historic event, the blonde shone in a powder pink dress with a matching fascinator. Her husband wore the traditional national uniform.
