Sarah Herron and her husband have suffered a tragic loss. The candidates for the US version of the bachelor’s degree announced their pregnancy in September last year after a year of in vitro fertilization. But the joy didn’t last long: on January 28, the son of Sarah and her husband Dylan Brown was born after just 24 weeks – and therefore three months too early. Now the baby is dead.

On Wednesday, the 36-year-old shared a heartbreaking Instagram post announcing the death of her baby boy. “On January 28th, at the age of 24 weeks, our beautiful son Oliver Brown was born,” she began in the caption. “He died shortly after in his father’s arms.” She also shared a photo of her holding her baby to her breast while her fiancé Dylan kisses her forehead. “While our hearts are shattered beyond belief, we are comforted to know that our son’s soul knew only love and will not suffer in a body not made for this life,” she continued.

After announcing her pregnancy in September, Sarah couldn’t believe her luck. “We are over the moon that our recent embryo transfer was a success and that I am pregnant with a baby boy! We are still early in the first trimester but having shared my fertility journey so openly with my community, it is important to me that I am in this Keep believing,” she told People at the time.
