Vanessa’s parents married in 1965 and divorced eight years later. The two are multiple award-winning actors and have several hyphens. The filmmaker has four siblings, including Vania Plemiannikov (born 1974), Christian Vadim, Nathalie Vadim, and Troy Garity. Vania Plemiannikov comes from her father’s marital relationship with Catherine Schneider, whom he married in 1975 and divorced in 1977. Christian (born June 18, 1963, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France) came from Roger’s relationship with the French actress, producer, model, and singer Catherine Deneuve.

Nathalie is the daughter of Roger and the Danish-born actress Annette Stroyberg (died 2005). The two met and fell in love during the shooting of the project Les Liaisons dangereuses. They entered into marriage on June 17, 1958, and divorced in 1961. Garity, an accomplished film actor, is the son of Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden.
