Vinita Chandra Nair, better known as Vinita Nair, is an Indian-American television journalist who covers a wide range of topics, including the investigation of the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey, the shooting at the school in Bailey, Colorado, and political commentary, the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Vinita was born on September 8, 1981, in Evanston, Illinois. She is of Indian-American nationality and Asian-American descent and grew up with her parents in Colleyville, Texas. She graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University with a degree in Journalism.
Career
The television journalist was not always on television. She began her journalistic career as a writer for Today’s Chicago Woman magazine and also worked as a reporter for Talk Radio News in Washington D.C.
Her television career, however, began in 2000 as a general assistant reporter for WGEM-TV, the NBC subsidiary in Quincy, Illinois. She has also worked for various television stations, including PBS in Chicago, WYCC-TV, and PEG (Public, Educational, and Government) cable television in Illinois, Evanston Community Cable Channel.
She also hosted daily morning and afternoon news broadcasts and reported for KOLN/KGIN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since July 2004, Vinita Nair has been a host at KWGN-TV, the CW subsidiary (CBS and Warner Bros. Television) in Denver, where she also directed the evening reports.
In December 2007, she then became part of ABC News Now as a presenter and correspondent for ABC News Now, where she hosted live coverage and breaking news for their digital network. From 17 September 2008 to 18 February 2011, Vinita was co-host of ABC’s World News Now and America This Morning.
After her last show on ABC on February 18, 2011, she started working at MSNBC as a news anchor for Martin Bashir (a one-hour show with political commentary on weekdays). She also hosted the news shows Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC.
Vinita Nair co-hosted CBS This Morning Saturday with Anthony Mason from 2013 to 2016. In addition to “This Morning Saturday,” she was also a correspondent for CBS Newspath and alternate host for the station’s overnight news show “Up to the Minute.

What Happened to Her? Where is Vinita Nair Now?
The weekend show on the morning of the weekend broadcast a new episode on November 19, 2016, but it was not Vinita who was found, but Alex Wagner in her place. Fans of the journalist and her show on the CBS channel let their anger erupt when she was replaced by Alex Wagner. She’s never been fired from any of her jobs before, so we wouldn’t assume it was her this time.

She was a guest host twice (October 12 and 13, 2017) on the Dallas-based ABC affiliate WFAA on News 8 Daybreak alongside Ron Coming (World News Now and America This Morning-Alum).
The anchoring was actually an audition to become Alexa Conomos’ successor at the TEGNA8 weekday editions of the Dallas show. However, the position went to Kara Sewell, who joined the network on January 4, 2018.
She was hired as a reporter for special assignments on extended projects for KXAS, the Dallas-based NBC station. Vinita joined the network as a staff member on January 29, 2018.
Who is her Husband?
She has been married to a journalist colleague, Osman Elahi Nawaz, since October 10, 2009. They had a traditional wedding with an Indian theme, which took place when she was still with ABC News. She spoke about her wedding on ABC’s World News Now and even showed some wedding photos.
As is common for most journalists, they love to keep a low profile and not make their private life a public affair, as well as their family with almost complete privacy. However, there were rumors that the couple was on the way to divorce, but these were only rumors. They are still together, and their bonds are only growing stronger.
The fact that they knew each other long before they entered into the Covenant of Life, and that they share the same profession, may have played a role in keeping them together and in love.
Vinita gave birth to her son on January 25, 2012. The proud parents named their little boy Tahir, a Muslim name that means purity.
