Fields were born on June 27, 1988, in Long Beach, California, and grew up with 2 siblings at his parents, Steve and Janice Fields.
Throughout his life, Landry has always been very close to basketball, so it is not surprising that he became very good at the game. Because his father, Steve Fields, was not only a college basketball player when he was at the University of Miami, he also made the draft in 1975 even though he couldn’t play in an NBA game.

The only thing more interesting than the fact that his father also played at a younger age is that his mother, Janice Fields, was once a community college basketball player. Landry, a cousin of Cameron Jones, also has some members of his extended family who played the sport.
For his education, he attended Ellwood P. Cubberley Elementary School, where he went to Stanford University where he continued to play. With outstanding performance, he was selected by the New York Knicks for the 2010 NBA Draft. Prior to that, he made it into the first-team All-Pac-10 and was named Pac-10 Scholar and Athlete of the Year.
At the end of his first season in the NBA, he made it into the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Before that, he was Rookie of the Month in the Eastern Conference in November and December 2010. He remained with the Knickers until 2012 when he signed a three-year, $20 million contract with the Toronto Raptors.
Unfortunately, he was not able to make it big with the Raptors, as he suffered repeated injuries. When his contract expired, he had to undergo another operation, which excluded him for up to five months. As a result, he did not participate in the 2015-2016 season anymore, which meant the end of his career. Nevertheless, he stayed close to the sport as he was appointed college scout by the San Antonio Spurs.
Besides basketball, he has also made several television appearances. In 2011 he participated in the Andy and Landry Show, which he co-directed with his former teammate Andy Rautins. The show lasted less than a year before it ended. Next, he was a reality show contestant on Sing Your Face Off in 2014 and was voted second with Lisa Rinna.
