Who is Mike Cernovich? Bio

Mike Cernovich was born on 17 November 1977 in Illinois, USA. His mother, Diana Lynn, suffered from mental illness, and Mike’s birth name was the same as his father’s – Michael John Cernovich. Mike grew up in the farm town of Kewanee, Illinois, and is a devout Christian home. Cernovich attended the University of Illinois, and when that was done, he joined the law faculty at Pepperdine University.

His career began when Cernovich launched a legal weblog called “Crime & Federalism” in 2004. His early work focused on male empowerment, anti-feminism, and some guides to encountering women. Over the years, Cernovich has found a way to constantly spread his rather “disturbing” views. In 2014 Gamergate was introduced by Cernovich with tweets like “Who cares about breast cancer and rape? Not me”.

Gamergate was never far from controversial. Several women in the video game industry were harassed by internet trolls. Cernovich wrote his self-published help book “Gorilla Mindset” in 2015. In it, he shared his views on how women should submit to “dominant alpha males”.

He became really influential when he became part of the Manosphere Movement. He brought his theories to the national level and falsely claimed during the 2016 presidential election in the United States that Hilary Clinton was in fact quite ill. He claimed that she had a “seizure disorder” and Parkinson’s disease. Thanks to the magic of the Internet, the hashtag #HilarysHealth had become a trendy topic on Twitter in September of the same year with 240,000 page views, and his views were seen over 100 million times.

When the false conspiracy theory of Pizzagate came up and claimed that child sex rings were rampant in Washington D.C., Cernovich helped popularize the theory. As soon as Cernovich sees one of them as his opponent, he quickly branded such a person or group as a pedophile.
