Who Is Sin Cara? How Old Is He, Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Another fighter from beyond the borders of the USA, Sin Cara, is actually more of a role than a person. Jorge Arias made his WWE debut when he temporarily replaced Luis Urive, who before him had played the wrestling character of Sin Cara. He later appeared under the nickname Hunico, always wore a headscarf, and often fought as part of a tag team consisting of himself and Camacho.

Since 2013, after the termination of the Urives WWE contract, the Mexican-American wrestler has adopted the masked Sin Cara figure. He is also the longest-serving actor to play this figure. Like others before him, Jorge fought under other names and in other lower-level promotions before his WWE career. Together with Kalisto, he is a one-time winner of the NXT Tag Team Championship title.

When he started working for Mexico’s AAA wrestling promotion, he changed his appearance and changed his name to “Incognito” to avoid legal overlap with his former employer, the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). After moving from the AAA, he worked with a myriad of independent wrestling promotions in both Mexico and the United States.

In 2006, he participated in the TNA World X-Cup tournament as part of Team Mexico. Beginning in September 2007, Jorge Arias spent some time with Philadelphia-based promoted Chikara, where he won the Rey de Voladores (“King of the Flyers”) tournament in May 2008.

After joining the WWE’s Florida Championship Wrestling Development Program, he changed his name to Hunico but kept the outfit of his previous character. As part of the two-man tag team, Los Aviadores tag team, Hunico won the Florida Tag Team Championship title in June 2010 by defeating the Uso Brothers. They lost the title 12 days later but won it back the following day before losing it for the last time on August 12, 2010.

Exactly one year later, Arias began filling in for Luis Urive as Sin Cara during the 30-day suspension of Luis Urive. Urive resumed his office as Sin Cara on September 16, 2011, and started a feud with Arias who was acting as Sin Cara impostor. They competed against each other several times and finally ended the feud in a fight in which Luis won and Arias was unmasked.

Hunico also had a feud with Ted DiBiase and drove an unbeaten series of victories over Ezekiel Jackson, Justin Gabriel, Yoshi Tatsu, and so on. Over the years, he also took on the role of tag-team with his friend Danny Marlow, known as Camacho, in the ring.

Arias was returned to Raw as Sin Cara on December 2, 2013, defeating Alberto Del Rio. The character experienced a resurrection with Jorge at the helm and enjoyed a winning streak throughout the month of December, which was finally ended by Del Rio.

In mid-2014, Arias, who had taken over the character Sin Cara permanently, was sent to NXT. There he formed a tag team partnership with Kalisto, known as The Lucha Dragons. They then won the NXT Tag Team Championship, Arias’ first title at the WWE. They lost the title on January 28, 2015.

Following the dissolution of The Lucha Dragons, Sin Cara officially became part of the Raw brand after being drafted into the WWE 2016 draft. Here he had a feud with Braun Strowman before he was added to SmackDown’s list as a result of the 2017 WWE Superstar Shake-up. Here he fought with many stars over the various events and recorded several victories, among others over US champion Baron Corbin. On April 8, 2018, he participated in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Sin Cara also fought in the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27, 2018, but saw his retirement by Dolph Ziggler.
