Chyler Leigh Potts, born on April 10, 1982, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is an American actress, singer, and model. Although she was born in North Carolina, she grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and attended Trantwood Elementary School. Her parents, Yvonne Norton and Robert Potts owned a weight loss company together, but it went bankrupt and the couple separated later in 1994. Chyler had to move to Miami with her mother and brother Christopher Khayman Lee. Eventually, her mother remarried.
In eighth grade, the young actress began working as a model and actress in local television commercials. In 1999, Chyler and her mother moved to Los Angeles to further their acting career. It was around this time that she wrote and passed the California High School Proficiency Exam.
