Clayton Kershaw is an American professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Kershaw is now a pitcher and was selected by the Dodgers during the 2006 draft as one of the most promising high school prospects of the year.

Kershaw spent two seasons in the Minor League before joining the Dodgers’ active roster in 2008. When he made his Major League debut in 2008, Kershaw, then 20 years old, was the youngest player in the MLB. A left-handed starting pitcher, Kershaw has proven himself in his MLB career and is considered the best pitcher in baseball in some circles. Since his first appearance on the list in 2011, Kershaw has been selected for 7 consecutive MLB All-Star games, and that is no small feat.

Clayton Edward Kershaw was born on 19 March 1988 in Dallas, Texas. His parents Marianne (née Tombaugh) and Christopher George Kershaw divorced when he was 10 years old.

The young Kershaw received his high school education at Highland Park High School. As a young boy, he played for the baseball team of his school and also played in the youth sports leagues. He was also a pitcher for the American Junior Baseball National Team in the Pan American Championship.

In 2006, Kershaw was considered one of the most promising high school pitchers. He was finally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2006 draft. He began his career with the Gulf Coast League (GCL) Dodgers, where he continued to be considered one of the Dodgers’ and GCL’s most promising players.

Kershaw played for the Great Lakes Loons in 2007. He was a member of the Midwest League All-Star Game and the All-Star Future Games. In August, he advanced to the Southern League, where he played with the Jacksonville Suns. He still ended the 2007 season as one of the Dodgers’ most promising players.

On 25 May 2008, Clayton Kershaw made his debut in the Major League with the Dodgers against the St. Louis Cardinals. At that time, he was the youngest player in the MLB and remained so until the next year. Coincidentally, he also made his playoff debut against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2009 National League Division Series (NLDS).

Kershaw finished the 2010 season on a high note, earning him a spot as an opening player for the 2011 season. He has received numerous awards, including the 2011 Players Choice Award for the National League’s most outstanding pitcher. He was also the first Dodger to win the NL-Pitching Triple Crown since 1966 when Sandy Koufax won it.

1n 2017, Clayton Kershaw was selected for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, his seventh consecutive selection since 2011, and the second-highest in Dodger history.

Clayton Kershaw is married to Ellen Melson. The duo met during their time at Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Ellen continued her college education at Texas A&M, while Clayton was drafted to play professional baseball for the LA Dodgers. However, the distance between the two did not get in the way of their relationship.

The couple tied the knot on December 4, 2010, after 7 years together. The wedding ceremony took place at the Presbyterian Church Highland Park Park, followed by a reception, reception at the Royal Oaks Country Club, both in their hometown of Dallas, Texas.

Clayton Kershaw is a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church. In 2011, Kershaw and his wife Ellen embarked on a Christian mission under the auspices of Arise Africa, based in Dallas. As a result of the trip, Kershaw promised to build an orphanage in Zambia’s capital Lusaka. The orphanage was completed in 2012 and named “Hope’s Home” after an 11-year-old child named Hope who Kershaw met during his stay in Zambia.

The Dodgers’ highly talented pitcher continued to support Zambia’s children in collaboration with the Pennsylvania-based charity “CURE International”.

In 2013, Kershaw and his wife created an annual charity table tennis tournament called “Ping Pong 4 Purpose” to raise funds for various noble causes. The book, which was published on January 10, 2012, describes the couple’s life story as Christians and as philanthropists.

On January 23, 2015, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Cali Ann. On November 19, 2016, they also welcomed their second child, a son named Charley Clayton.
