The disturbed frontman was born on March 13, 1973, in the hospital of Flatbush, a suburb of Brooklyn, New York, USA. His mother is Miriam Draiman and his father, YJ Draiman, was a real estate developer, business owner, and elected member of the Northridge East Neighborhood Council. He also ran for mayor of Los Angeles in 2017.

David Draiman is a well-known supporter of Israel. His maternal grandparents are both Holocaust survivors, and his grandmother lives in Israel. His parents are devout and religious Jews, so his religion is Judaism. Although he has not followed the religious path, he is completely proud of his Jewish heritage.

He is not the only musician in the family, his younger brother Benjamin has been a pianist and songwriter since the age of 13. He is a social worker and also an ambient / folk-rock musician who lives in Israel and performs in Jerusalem.

David formed his first band during his time in one of these schools – Valley Torah High School, Los Angeles, California.

Although he did not like studying at these schools, he later encouraged his family to observe the Jewish day of rest, also known as the Shabbat or Sabbath, and later trained as a Hazzan (cantor, one who leads the Jewish community in prayer).

Despite his rebellion in high school, he was a good student and got good grades. He graduated from the Ida Crown Jewish Academy, Chicago, Illinois, in 1991, thus ending his high school career. The next year after graduating, David Draiman was in Israel and studied at the Yeshivas Neveh Zion in Kiryat Ye’arim, a suburb of Jerusalem. According to him, he wanted to study religion on his own and decide what he wanted to believe and what he didn’t want to believe.

Upon his return to the United States in 1992, he showed a genuine thirst for knowledge and enrolled in a pre-law program at Loyola University Chicago, where he completed triple degrees in political science, philosophy, and business administration and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996.

During his studies, he worked as a bank clerk and in telephone sales. After graduation, David worked as an administrative assistant in a health care institution, and after his first year in this profession, he obtained an administrative license and started his own health care institution. He worked for five years as a health care administrator and considered studying law before joining the Band of the Disturbed.

From his time as a cantor, he had some vocal training, which he fully exploited in his later years as a singer. He first came into contact with music when he was at school in Los Angeles with a punk rock band that covered Ramones and Sex Pistols and some originals. In an interview with Metal Hammer, he said that Disturbed was the seventh band group he joined.

He became the frontman of the band group and is known for his distinctive rhythmic vocal character and percussive vocal style. Disturbed released five studio albums, most of which were topped on Billboard 200 before taking a break in 2011.

After their break, David worked with Geno Lenardo from Device on an industrial rock/metal project. He was later to become the lead singer of the band Device. Disturbed joined forces in 2015 and released their sixth studio album Immortalized.

He has been married to former professional WWE wrestler Lena Yada since September 25, 2011. Lena is a professional Japanese-American model and actress. Both are parents of their son, Samuel Bear Isamu Draiman, who was born on September 12, 2013. Samuel is David’s only child for the time being. There is no report that he has had another child, son, or daughter anywhere else.
