Lis Wiehl was born on 19 August 1961 in Yakima, Washington in the United States of America. She has a brother named Christopher, and both were raised by their parents Dick Wiehl, who worked as an FBI agent, and a Danish mother. While growing up, she attended West Valley High School, and after graduation, she enrolled at Barnard College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1983. She also went to the University of Queensland, where she received a Master of Arts degree in Literature in 1985. Lis continued her studies at Harvard Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 1987.

After graduating, Lis Wiehl began working as a trial lawyer in the law firm of Perkins Cole, and later, in 1990, she worked as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office until 1995. During her time with the law firm, Lis Wiehl served as a legal correspondent and as a staff member of National Public Radio. During Clinton’s impeachment, she served in the United States House of Representatives as Principal Deputy Chief Minority Investigative Counsel for Democrats.

Subsequently, she was a Professor of Law at the University of Washington’s School of Law in Seattle from 1995 to 2001. During her time at the school, she also directed the Trial Advocacy Program.

Fox News Career

The multi-talented legal analyst joined Fox News in 2001 as a legal commentator for the popular Bill O’Reilly moderated shows The Radio Factor. She was given a corner entitled Lis on Law on the Fox website, where she writes about legal issues. Lis also appeared on other Fox shows, including The Kelly with Megyn Kelly, The O’Reilly Factor, Lou Dobbs Tonight, and Your World with Neil Cavuto. Lis Wiehl left Fox News in 2017 after some sexual harassment issues against Bill O’Reilly, for which she later received $32 million in a settlement.
