Jon Weiner was born in the late 80s in Long Island, Port Washington, New York. Although his date of birth is not known, Weiner has American citizenship and belongs to the white ethnic group. Growing up, Stugotz was a big fan of the American radio show called Mike and the Mad Dog; he soon developed an interest in pursuing a career as a talk show host when he grew up. He attended Clark University, which he graduated from in 1995 with a degree in English/Communication. During his time at Clark, Weiner was a top lacrosse player and attended the 1992 Pilgrim League Division III Lacrosse Conference. He finished his college career as a runner-up in scoring, held the school record for the highest number of goals per game, and was appointed to the All-Star Team.
Professional Career
After graduating, Weiner adopted the name Stugotz as his stage name while interning with the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Manhattan. After a while, he moved to South Florida where he continued his internship with the Miami Dolphins and Miami Marlins. Soon after he finished his internship, he and his friends founded the radio station WAXY or 790 The Ticket in South Miami, which is now owned by Entercom. At that time he also owned the Miccosukee Sports Wrap.

Upon joining ESPN, Stugotz became co-host of the ESPN morning show Weekend Observations, where the duo also hosted several fantasy specials, alongside Mike Golic Jr. He hosted the ESPNEWS Aircheck and in 2004, together with Dan Le Batard, he started a sports talk show called The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. The show is broadcast on both ESPN Radio and ESPNEWS from 10 am to 1 pm. The show gained great popularity in Miami and throughout America, putting the duo in the spotlight.
After their brilliant performances, Dan Le Batard and Stugotz ranked sixth on Talkers.com’s list of the top 100 sports talk show hosts in America in 2015, and similarly, Barrett Sports Media named their show as one of the top 20 national sports radio shows in the same year. The following year, the Miami New Times honored Stugotz as the best AM radio personality. Their show was later broadcast on ESPN2 in 2017, and on June 28, 2018, the duo announced the signing of a multi-year contract for the show with ESPN.
