She was born on August 4, 1981, in Gold Breeze, Florida, USA, as Abigail Leigh Spencer. Her father Yancy Bailey Spencer III (1950-2011) was a professional surfer, her mother is Lydia Ann Brown. She has two siblings: the younger brother Sterling (born 1986) and an older half-brother, Yancy Bailey IV (born 1973). The actress is the product of a mixed pedigree of English, German, and partly Cherokee.
Spencer’s journey into the world of entertainment began in 1999 when she was cast as Rebecca “Becca” Tyree in the ABC soap opera All My Children (1999-2001).
