It was Jos’s marriage to Sophie Kumpen, a former Belgian karting champion, who also comes from a family actively involved in cycling motorsport, that led to the birth of Max and his younger sister Victoria-Jane, who is also a racing driver.
Victoria-Jane was born on 22 October 1999. Sometime in 2014, it was reported that she entered karting like her mother. Then her father noticed that she was doing well, but that she still had a lot to learn. As such, he expressed that she should not be expected to immediately thrive like Max. Before she entered the world of cycling motorsport, she was popular as a beauty and fashion photographer. A self-titled YouTube channel she launched in May 2013 generated nearly one million views with over 10,600 subscribers at the time of writing this report. Victoria also enjoys a large fan base on other social media platforms.
Meanwhile, Victoria is not the only sister Max has; her father’s second marriage to Kelly van der Waal, which began in 2014 and broke up sometime in June 2017, was blessed with a daughter, Blue Jaye, in September 2014.
His Salary and Net Worth
Although he is still a very young driver, Max Verstappen has spelled his name rightly as far as the bikes are concerned. Since he has been around for several years, he has already accumulated a net worth estimated at $10 million.
The Belgian-Dutch driver has become rich mainly through his race. In 2017, he had earnings of 500,000 dollars, but with his new contract, it is speculated that he could now earn up to 3 million dollars every season. There are other reports that claim it is much more than that and put the figure at $10 million.
