Canadian actor Noel Fisher began his career in 1999 as a teenager hoping to make it to the big leagues. But it didn’t come quite that easy. For years Fisher only managed small roles in movies that didn’t attract too much attention. But all that changed in 2007 when Noel was cast in The Riches, the FX series about Irish con artists in which Noel portrayed Cael Malloy.
The series lasted only 2 seasons but was enough to give Fisher’s career the boost it long deserved. Since then he has achieved more, and the future looks only rosier.
Age, Early Life, and Rise to Fame
Noel Roeim Fisher was born on March 13, 1984, in his native Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia. Fisher attributes his parents to the good entertainer he turned out to be. The actor has told several times how his parents encouraged him to take various kinds of lessons, including piano lessons, which was his favorite subject. He also took acting lessons and got his very first role at the age of 14 in The Sheldon Kennedy Story, a sports drama about hockey player Sheldon Kennedy.
Noel Fisher has not looked back since then, even though fame didn’t immediately set in for him. Throughout his teenage years, Fisher appeared in roles on both the small screen and the big screen, but none of them were big enough to be called his breakthrough until the mid-2000s. Fisher celebrated his earliest successes in Godiva’s and The Riches. He celebrated his early success by sponsoring a little girl in Zambia, an experience he describes as one of the most rewarding he has ever had.
Fisher has had roles in notable shows such as Bones, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour, and many others. He had a big breakthrough after being cast as gay thug Mickey Milkovich in Shameless. Fisher missed the last callback for his role in Shameless. He was so desperate for the role, however, that he recorded an impersonation director’s meeting and sent it to the casting directors. Fortunately, they liked it and called him to read the role and the rest is history.
In movies, Noel Fisher had roles in Battle Los Angeles (2011) and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012), where he played the 1,500-year-old vampire Vladimir. He has portrayed the character of Michelangelo in two animated films of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Is Noel Fisher Gay, Does He Have A Wife or Girlfriend?
When an actor plays a certain character so well, the audience is forced to ask themselves if it draws on personal experiences from real life, and this is the case with Noel Fisher, who plays the gay character of Mickey Milkovich incredibly well in Showtime’s Shameless.
The fact is that Noel Fisher is really just a great actor and draws from no personal experience at all to play this gay role. The fact is that Fisher is not only heterosexual but unlike his character in Shameless, a faithful lover. Since 2005, even before he made it big in the industry, Fisher was in a relationship with the hot Afghan actress Layla Alizada, to whom he is now married.
The couple met in the make-up trailer for the Canadian comedy-drama Godiva’s. However, they only became hot for each other after the Warp Party. That evening they became very close and finally got their very first kiss. After about a decade of dating, Fisher asked his Afghan admirer the question during a romantic trip to St. Regis in Bora Bora in May 2014.
The couple waited another year before sealing the deal in an intimate wedding ceremony attended by only 60 close family members and friends on July 15, 2017. In their interview with PEOPLE, the couple described their day as a magical day. The bride was dressed in a Morilee dress, while Fisher chose a sky blue tuxedo by Kenneth Cole.
Layla Alizada was born on August 10, 1977. She has appeared in many notable television shows, including The Muppets, Days of Our Lives, Shut Eye, and Jane the Virgin. Together, the couple starred in the Oscar-nominated short film Day One in 2015. They have long resided in Los Angeles.
Noel Fisher is average height and stands at 170 cm (5 feet 7 inches). Fisher is a few inches shorter than his wife Layla Alizada, who is about 1.80 meters tall.
